The Overseas Indian Facilitation Centre (OIFC) was set up as a public–private partnership between the then Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Services of the OIFC
- Through its portal, www.oifc.in, the OIFC gives up-to-date information on India, emerging sectors and State Government projects open for investment. It also answers queries with the help of knowledge partners and domain experts, and publishes reports and webinars. The portal is linked to key Government initiatives such as Make in India, Namami Gange and Swachh Bharat.
- It answers queries from overseas Indians on economic engagement, investment, finding business partners, rules and procedures, sectoral information, taxation and related matters.
- It organises tailor-made visits and B2B meetings for business delegations of the Indian diaspora visiting India.
- It organises annual Diaspora Engagement Meets in selected countries, where business leaders from India meet overseas Indian delegates.
The OIFC has published two e-books on its portal: “Spinning India's Success: Growth on Wheels”, on key Government schemes and the opportunities they offer overseas Indians, and “The Overseas Indian and India: Weaving a Global Fabric”, with examples of overseas Indians engaging economically with India. At the annual Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, the OIFC organises networking meetings among delegates and with Government officials.
